ABOUT

It’s story time… Blazo’s Pie Shop on Wayne Road in Westland, Michigan. It was 1975 & that is where my journey started. My mom was a young waitress from a family of Poles & in walked my dad, fresh off the boat from Lebanon, not a lick of English, ready to build something. He had a hunger inside of him, & although I’ve heard the pies were rather good there, my parents obviously preferred ice cream, because within a few years they would own their first DQ in a little town just northeast of here called Marine City.

Us rug rats soon followed, and somewhere between 80 hour workweeks, 3 kids and a stray cat, they found the time to instil a vision of what it takes to create something in this world. Three simple words really, “just keep going”. Whether it be banana splits or genuine Detroit art, nothing has ever stopped someone who isn’t afraid of hard work.

Those are my roots, whatever you want to create for yourself, create it. And in 2005, I wanted to create something different (devious?), something original, something bold, something fun, something Detroit. Since then, I have found one thing in common with the thousands of fine customers I have shared that vision with, from friends & neighbors, to 15 states in the union & even the Army barracks of Iraq. Three simple words. “We love Detroit”. So let’s all just keep going. Oh and I make films too:THIS NARROW PLACE
